Yumates is currently a public prototype and is not a finished product. Features may not work perfectly, data is not guaranteed to be saved, and the service may change or go offline at any time. Use at your own risk.
1. Who we are
Yumates is a social app that connects adults based on shared favourite restaurants. We are committed to creating a safe, fun and inclusive space for food lovers aged 18 and over.
2. Age requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Yumates. By signing up you confirm you are 18+. We use AI-powered facial age estimation to verify this. Anyone found to be under 18 will be permanently banned.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You must not share your account with anyone or impersonate another person. You must provide accurate information when setting up your profile.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to harass, abuse, or harm other users. You must not post offensive, discriminatory, or illegal content. You must not use Yumates for any commercial purpose without our written permission. Misuse will result in immediate account removal.
5. Your photos
Your profile photo must be a real, recent photo of yourself. You must not use photos of other people, celebrities, or AI-generated images. We reserve the right to remove any photo that violates these rules.
6. Age verification & privacy
We use Didit AI to estimate your age from a live face scan. Your facial image is processed in real time and deleted immediately afterwards — it is never stored. Your location is never shown to other users on the map unless you have connected with them AND explicitly accepted a location share request from them. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We comply with UK GDPR.
7. Reviews & content
Any reviews or content you post must be honest and your own. You must not post fake reviews or defamatory content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.
8. Prototype disclaimer
Yumates is currently a prototype product in active development. It is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change, be removed, or be unavailable at any time without notice. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the reliability, accuracy, or fitness of this app for any particular purpose. By using Yumates you acknowledge and accept that you are using an early-stage prototype.
9. Age verification disclaimer
Our age verification system uses AI-powered facial age estimation technology provided by a third party (Didit). While we take reasonable steps to prevent under-18s from accessing the app, no age verification technology is 100% accurate. Yumates and its creators accept no liability for any failure, error, or inaccuracy in the age verification process. By using this app you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you take full personal responsibility for providing accurate age information. Any attempt to circumvent age verification is a violation of these terms and may be reported to relevant authorities.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yumates, its creators, and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes but is not limited to: actions of other users, meetings arranged through the app, inaccuracies in age verification, data loss, or service interruptions. Always meet in public places and exercise personal safety at all times.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms. We will notify you of any major changes.
